Since publication of the first edition in 2004 Inland Trips from the Costa Blanca has established itself as essential reading for the English-speaking visitor and resident who wants to discover more about this beautiful region.

Once known only for its sumptuous beaches few people ventured far from the sunny Mediterranean shoreline. But those who did discovered a panorama of rugged mountains and fertile valleys, pine forests and lakes, hilltop castles, historic architecture and colourful customs.

This new edition has been rigorously updated and extended to cover the whole province of Valencia, from the majestic mountains of the Maestrazgo in the north to castle-studded Alicante in the south, with supplementary excursions into Murcia and Teruel.

Each of the twenty-two excursions provides suggestions on what to see, where to eat and where to stay, for which detailed information is also readily available in Santana's Small Hotels & Inns of Eastern Spain by the same author.

Indeed, these two books make perfect partners for those who wish to discover this delightful but still relatively little known region of Spain.
